Decoración artística Mutenroshi: Capsule corp

Y seguimos con los amiguetes del Mutenroshi Ramen!

Ya os hablé en el anterior post de mi relación con este restaurante y el tipo de encargos artísticos que me están haciendo.

En esta ocasión, quiero compartir con vosotros un trabajo más minimalista que combina rotulación corporativa con pintura mural figurativa. Se trataba de decorar un comedor reservado para cenas de grupos numerosos en el restaurante de Calle Santaló.

La inspiración para este comedor era la Capsule Corp., y se buscaba un acabado más elegante. La idea ya la tenían clara al proponérmela; una sala amplia con paredes blancas y una franja negra envolviendo el espacio. Sobre ello, debía de rotular el logotipo de la corporación y añadir 2 personajes vinculados a la misma: Trunks y el Dr. Brief.

I already told you in the previous post of my relationship with this restaurant and the type of artistic commissions that they are asking for.

On this occasion, I want to share with you a this minimalist work that combines corporative lettering with figurative mural painting. It was a decoration of a dining room reserved for dinners of large groups in the restaurant of Santaló street, Barcelona.

The inspiration for this dining room was the Capsule Corp., and a more elegant finish was sought. The idea was clear when they proposing it to me; a large room with white walls and a black stripe enveloping the space. There, I had to paint the logo of the corporation and add 2 characters linked to it: Trunks and Dr. Brief.

Trabajé únicamente en negro sobre blanco siguiendo el colorway de la Capsule, y también encajaba el hecho de que recordara a una página de un cómic manga.

Tomé medidas y preparé la referencia en papel.

I worked only in black and white following the Capsule colorway, and it also fit the fact that it remembered a manga style.

I took measurements and prepared the reference on paper.

Cinta de carrocero en mano y ayudándome de un cutter, enmascaré la pared a mano alzada, dibujando las curvas a lápiz ayudándome de un cordel a modo de compás. Para el imagotipo en forma de “C”, preparé una plantilla a mano.

Using masking tape and cutter, I masked the wall drawing the curves with pencil and using a string like a compass. For the "C" imagotype, I maked a handmade stencil.

En una segunda fase incorporé los personajes en el interior de un marco de pladur, que a posteriori pintado de negro funcionó muy bien como viñeta 3D.

In a 2nd phase I painted the characters inside a plasterboard frame, which afterwards painted in black it looked like a 3D vignette.
